About Hilal Council of Canada

The Hilal Council of Canada was established by a large group of Canadian scholars and a good number of Masajid and Islamic Centers in the Great Toronto Area (GTA) with the intention to unite Muslims on the issue of the Islamic Calendar and eliminate as much as possible disunity, disputes and confusion among the members of the Muslim Community in Canada. 

Below is the list of our member communities:

a. To bring as many masajid and Islamic Centers as possible under one methodology that is accepted in the Sunni Islamic Jurisprudence  

b. To work together with humility and good spirit for unity of the Muslims in Canada especially in terms of their religious observances and celebrations

c. To organize the Islamic Calendar for the Muslim community
